Commissioners Foreword
Earlier this year seven committed volunteers got together with the intention to form an organisation built with the aim to develop community spirit, leadership and capability among the youth of Australia. I am happy to report that the Australian Cadet Corps Incorporated was fully formed with necessary approvals from government. The committee has been working hard and has been successful at drafting the organisations rules completing registrations with the Children’s Guardian, the ACNC and NSW Fair Trading.
Earlier this week, I had the privilege of calling those that submitted expressions of interest to multiple positions on the National Leadership Team, and we are all excited to meet to discuss our plans for the future of the Australian Cadet Corps.
I wanted to take this opportunity to give a big welcome to all the new Officers and Cadets that joined us throughout New South Wales recently. I also want to thankyou for your belief in our vision and we are just as excited as you to see the Cadets uniform handed out. We are very close to finalising our first order, so stay tuned.
Another exciting aspect of the work the committee is doing is the work done to be able to accept active and creative kids vouchers in NSW. This is also very close to being completed.
With the use of the ACNC Charity Tick we have been successful in holding various fundraising events so that we can purchase equipment and start to develop the various education resources we intend to circulate.
As alot of you may already know the Australian Cadet Corps focuses on delivering a comprehensive approach to what interests the Cadets our programs offer pathways into Emergency Services, Defence, Private and
Commercial Aviation and Maritime sectors by partnering with cadetship programmes. Education resources are being developed, and our leaders are meeting with politicians to discuss ways to connect Cadets with these services and sectors.
Cadets will be taught and expected to embody the three core qualities of the Australian Cadet Corps: integrity, discipline, and respect. These core qualities will be the focus of all internal culture within the organisation and be demonstrated by our members to the public.
Integrity: “Cadets always choose honesty, display decency, and demonstrate strong moral principles with all their actions. “
Discipline: “Cadets always choose order, display authority, and demonstrate self-control to achieve goals.”
Respect: “Cades always choose honour, display confidence, and demonstrate pride in their own abilities and worth. “
We have some exciting events coming up, make sure to checkout the upcoming events listed below.
Thanks again for joining us and I look forward to catching up with you all soon.
