Central Coast Airshow a Great Success!
Australian Cadet Corps Engages the Community at Central Coast Airshow
The Australian Cadet Corps was thrilled to participate in the highly anticipated Central Coast Airshow on 25-26 May 2024. Held at the Central Coast Aerodrome, this annual event draws aviation enthusiasts and families from across the region, bringing a unique combination of thrilling performances, community engagement, and educational displays to the heart of the Central Coast.
Thanks to the generosity of Paul Bennet Airshows, who provided complimentary entry for our Cadets, and the support of the Central Coast Aeroclub, which provided excellent facilities, our members enjoyed a memorable and impactful experience. The airshow not only offered the Cadets a chance to witness breathtaking aerial displays but also allowed them to engage closely with the wider community and develop valuable skills through their participation.
In an effort to raise funds for the Corps’ initiatives, the Cadets set up and ran a community BBQ. The team’s dedication was evident, as they served up a range of food items throughout the weekend. The funds raised will go directly toward supporting ongoing programs, training, and equipment for the Cadet Corps, helping to empower our members and foster their growth.
One of the most exciting parts of the weekend for our Cadets was visiting various stalls and engaging with local and national organisations present at the event. From exploring the NSW Marine Rescue boats to taking a close look at the CareFlight helicopter, Cadets were inspired by the chance to interact with professionals in emergency response fields, gaining insights into the skills and dedication required in these important roles. This exposure sparked great interest among Cadets in careers dedicated to service and safety.
The Central Coast Airshow has become an iconic community event, bringing people together to celebrate the rich heritage and possibilities of aviation. It serves as a platform for organisations like the Australian Cadet Corps to engage with the public, connect with like-minded groups, and showcase our commitment to community involvement and youth development. Local families, students, and veterans gathered to enjoy the spectacular displays by experienced pilots and precision teams, with each performance highlighting the dedication and skill behind the art of aviation.
Events like these provide invaluable learning experiences for our Cadets, reinforcing the values of community, service, and leadership that are central to the Cadet Corps. The Australian Cadet Corps extends heartfelt gratitude to Paul Bennet Airshows and the Central Coast Aeroclub for their support and generosity, which made our participation in this year’s airshow such a success. Through such partnerships, we’re able to continue providing meaningful experiences that inspire and shape the next generation of leaders.
