2025 Australian Cadet Corps Camp

Cadet Units across the Corps have come together in Appin  for this years annual cadet camp. The camp is designed to bring cadets together from across the nation to build there leadership, resilience and field capabilities. This is the 4th such camp we have had with a strong turnout. We hope next year will be even bigger and better.

The Camp

Held from the 14th to 16th March in Appin, the camp was a weekend full of excitement and self-discovery. Cadets learned about leadership and command to train our future NCO’s, they participated in recreational and night games encourage teamwork and comradery and finally completed drill programs and band practice ensuring they are parade ready. A big thank you to Mr. Ansourian, Mr. tam and Mr. Turini for supplying wonderful meals to all our cadets and officers.

The Australian Cadet Corps’ camps demonstrate a strong commitment to giving cadets immersive experiences that develop practical skills, resilience, and a deeper connection to the world around them. Across a range of activities, cadets are challenged to step outside their comfort zones, work as a team, and develop both personal and leadership skills. From mud runs and field training exercises to structured problem-solving challenges, each activity is carefully designed to reinforce the Corps’ values of teamwork, self-reliance, and service.

Commissioner Trent Aylward reflected on the impact of the recent camps, saying:
“These camps are more than just activities – they are opportunities for cadets to challenge themselves, discover their strengths, and grow alongside their peers. By fostering resilience, cooperation, and practical skills, we ensure our cadets leave not only better prepared for the future but also more deeply connected to their communities and to each other.”

The camps culminated in a memorable parade, where cadets showcased the skills they had honed over the course of the week. Promotions were announced, recognising cadets for their dedication, effort, and leadership throughout the program. The event was further brought to life with an impressive band performance, providing a fitting celebration of achievement and camaraderie.

Through these hands-on experiences and the chance to celebrate their accomplishments publicly, the Australian Cadet Corps continues to provide enriching opportunities for young Australians. Cadets not only gain practical skills and resilience but also learn the value of teamwork and community service, leaving the camps as confident, capable individuals ready to contribute meaningfully to their communities and thrive as part of a greater team.
